Fun Find Friday...

There are some foods that just taste better with a soda pop. Something about the bubbles that cleanses the palette after each bite... but who wants all of those extra calories, high fructose corn syrup, etc.!? When I was pregnant I gave up soda pop but found a great replacement. Sparkling water with lime... it is soooo refreshing. Now with our new shift in eating habits and making better choices for ourselves I can proudly say I haven't had a soda pop since October 2009!!! I still miss the bubbles though... I have been on the search since my first pregnancy for a natural quick and easy sparkling flavored water that is pre-made for me. Something that is in a can just chilling in the refrigerator until I am ready for it. And I bet you are thinking to yourself well Nat, there are tons out there... and you are right but I was looking for something special. A zero calorie (because that's what water is), zero sodium (because that is how water is), no sugar added kind of water... simply water with a hint of true fruit or natural flavor. Last night while shopping at Whole Foods I came across this four pack of sparkling water. Fully expecting to find all of the disappointing ingredients, I flipped it over and read the back of the nutritional information and to my surprise it met all of my criteria plus most of the ingredients are organic!!! (at this point you can imagine a choir singing AWWWWW!!! because that is what I was happening in my head) So I thought to myself; ugh, it must not taste that good. Well tonight, I just had my first Sparkling Essence, by R.W. Knudsen Family. AWESOME... so refreshing... this is my new drink!!! (again after first drink... choir singing AWWWWWWW) R.W.Knudsen is a great company that offers organic and natural products. They have an organic pear juice that we buy for the girls at a very good price, around $4.00.

I went to their website to get their information and was pleased to find they have four flavors available: Blueberry, Lemon, Mint and cucumber. Tonight I tried the Sparkling Essence with cucumber. I've always wanted to try cucumber infused water because when I worked in the salon and spa business many of the upscale salons offer their water with cucumber slices. I wasn't sure if I would like it but it was nice. Lot's of bubbles.... which make me happy and then a nice hint of cucumber.

...this one reminds me of my middle school days drinking Blueberry Clearly Canadians... hahah do you remember those?

I also think that they might be nice as drink mixers if I ever feel like having an "adult" beverage... maybe a new twist on the vodka, club soda and lime! Stay tuned for that...

In the mean time go to R.W. Knudsen to find out where their products are found near you and then click on their coupon tab for Sparkling Essence 4-pack

Drink up!!!!

Easter Weekend...

We had a wonderful Easter weekend and I wanted to show a couple of pics before I get too sleepy...
We started the morning off at Riverbend Church... AWESOME service this morning. Then the girls went down for a power nap and it was off to the Kort's!
We spent the afternoon and evening at the Kort's house and we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for making us feel so welcome. My heart has been smiling all night long. Pictures of that will come tomorrow ;)
For now, the Easter Bunny brought the girls gardening tools among other things and the girls have had the most fun with the watering canisters...

Fun Find Friday...

Well, I would say that this week it was more like fun find out! It was fun to find out that we will be moving back to the Tulsa area.
We have started to imagine all of the possibilities... the areas to live, the friends we have missed, the play dates to line up, the new friends we will make in what ever area we decide. A lot to be excited about and thankful for. We have been gone for a year and we know we have missed out on so much. It is exciting to know that in a few months we will be settled in and enjoying our friends and family.
Soon we will have more details and official dates but for now it is still a little up in the air regarding the exact moving dates. We will keep you posted.

It's a short post this evening... before we go we wanted to wish everyone a peaceful Good Friday and a Happy Easter on Sunday... take care ;)

Another Austin Adventure...

This morning we went with our friends Jackie and Max to the Austin Nature & Science Center. It was a fun place to go with the girls. They had all kinds of exhibits for the girls to play with. I do believe that their favorites were the hands on trade center where people bring in things they find from nature and leave for others to see and or trade for something else and then the giant dinosaur dig.

I snapped a couple of pics with my iPhone...

(This one was going to be a great one of Izzy standing in the belly of dinosaur bones but my finger got in the way)

The big dinosaur pit
